Prayers Without Answers?

People often have a somewhat simplistic approach to prayer. Sometimes people seem to think in terms of either God answers prayer or God does not answer prayer. I like what someone said, "God always answers prayer, sometimes he answers 'Yes', sometimes 'No', and sometimes He answers 'Wait'."

I think often that God answers 'Yes' to the substance, or heart, of the prayer, while saying 'No' to the method or manifestation the person expects must accompany a 'Yes' answer.

Below I quote from the Bible Notes board.

quote:

I am talking about Jesus Christ the Son of God and Paul the apostle. Both of them had something in common besides the fact that they were always much in prayer, and that they were able to receive miraculous answers to prayer... both of them asked the Father for a specific thing three times and did not receive that for which they asked.
