Great, Quiet Play Testing Surface

While preparing to play test a game that has a good bit of dice rolling, I cleared off a nice wood, corner desk. It has a roll-out keyboard shelf, that I use to hold some overflow game pieces and etc. as needed.

I knew I will be play testing at times when my wife needs to be sleeping. So, I went shopping. I discovered a thin yoga, non-slip mat would do just fine. I had to cut it and then applied the two pieces to the top of the desk, taping down the front and side edges -- thereby attaching it to the desktop semi-permanently.

How well does it work? Dice rolling is great. It makes very little sound(compared to rolling on bare wood one veneer), but the dice still roll like they are supposed to!
